Star Wars Clone Trooper Voice Changer Helmet for Christmas 2008

November 17th, 2008

Ever since the original Star Wars movie came out in 1977, fans of the science fiction universe created by George Lucas have always wanted to be able to dress up as their favourite characters, including Darth Vader, Han Solo and the formidable Stormtroopers. When the prequels came about, the troopers were missing at first. In the first prequel, The Phantom Menace, there were Battle Droids, but a distinct lack of trooper action. Thankfully, with Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, the Star Wars universe gained its troopers in the form of Clone Troopers, the precursors to the legendary Imperial soldiers from the original trilogy.

Now, with the release of the Star Wars: Clone Wars movie and TV series comes a new version of those Clone troopers, and young Star wars fans everywhere are getting a treat at Christmas 2008 with the advent of the Star Wars Clone Trooper Voice Changer Helmet, the latest in the ever growing range of voice changer toys that have been released in conjunction with TV and movie franchises.

Other big names in the world of Voice changer toys include Doctor Who, Transformers and more hits. The Star Wars Clone Trooper Voice Changer helmet is a great gift for Christmas 2008, and has some great features to keep young Star wars fans amused through the twelfth helping of Turkey and stuffing.

The Clone Trooper Voice Changer helmet, set in sturdy plastic, comes with button-activated sound effects that transform the voice of the wearer into the famous voice of the Clone Troopers. Now your young Star Wars fans can sound just like the Clone armies, seen in the Star Wars Clone Wars movie and TV series!

The Star Wars Clone Trooper Voice Changer Helmet is the must-have gift for young Star wars fans for this festive season, and one of the most wanted Christmas gifts for 2008. With great technology and a dead-on replication of the famous helmet, kids will be having adventures in a galaxy far, far away for a long time to come.

Different Dental Flossing Tools

November 15th, 2008

The honest truth is that it doesn’t really matter which type of dental floss you use. This is because all dental floss tools are designed to remove food and plaque from between the teeth. There are three main types of dental floss tool. Conventional dental floss – this is the string of floss which you wrap around the fingers and place in between the teeth. Dental flosser – this is a tiny plastic stick which features a small piece of straight dental floss on its end which can be pushed between the teeth. Dental floss threader – this is a thin plastic needle type of dental flossing tool which allows you to tie a string of floss on the end to let you thread the floss between your teeth. This is a required dental flossing tool for people with a dental bridge. Water irrigation device – while these are not as effective as regular dental flossing, this tool aims a pressured stream of water at the teeth to remove anything between or on the teeth.

Types Of Dental Floss

While dental floss is the most common dental flossing tool available, there are many different types of dental floss. String floss – this is the plain type of dental floss which most people use Wax floss – this type of floss is used when the plain type gets stuck in teeth Ribbon floss – this is a very well waxed floss which is a thin wide floss which fits into tight spaces between teeth best. Expanding floss – this floss expands when saliva hits it. This puffs out the floss to fit within the spaces between teeth. This is the most effective floss for people with gaps, sensitive teeth or gums. Thin floss – this floss is super thin and is usually a last resort for anyone who can not use floss in any other way.

Proper Flossing

Even with the use of any one of the available dental flossing tools, if the method of flossing is inadequate, the tool will be ineffective. Here are the simple steps to proper flossing. Use a section of floss between 18 – 24 inches long. Wind most of the floss around one of the middle fingers. Wrap the remaining floss around the same finger on the opposite hand. This will be the “take up” as the floss is used. You will need about an inch of floss between the fingers while tightly holding the floss in either hand. With the floss at the gumline, curve the floss into a “C” around a tooth, then gently slide the floss into the space between the gum and tooth. Holding the floss tight against the tooth, gently move the floss side to side along the tooth moving the floss away from the gums. Repeat the process for each tooth.

Proper flossing with a chosen dental flossing tool will help keep healthy strong teeth and protect the enamel of the teeth. This in turn will prevent the need for cosmetic dental care.

Star Wars Lego Sets - Boys Love Them

November 13th, 2008

Star Wars Lego Collectables

Star Wars Lego is just the most fantastic thing according to my 11 year old son. He has been building legos since he was around 8 years and he has built Bionicles and the other City sets but Star Wars Lego Sets are by far his favourite.

There are many Star Wars Lego to choose from, you can either be a good guy Jedi or maybe  the Dark Side. He first was building some of the basic Star Wars Lego Sets and is always looking for the next good set to get. Each time we go to the toy shop we need to check and see if there is a new Star Wars Lego Set out.

The biggest Star Wars Lego Sets he has built so far must have had 400 pieces. I remember it was around fifty dollars and kept my son busy for a couple nights. Every so often he would come over and show me how some part went together and what it could do. One of my favorite Star Wars Lego Sets he built is one of the walkers, the Imperial AT-ST (All Terrain Scout Transport). It was a bit hard to build because so a lot of the pieces are gray. It looks really great on display. The Millennium Falcon lego set has more than 5,000 pieces and is the biggest and hardest to build the Lego company set made!!

Star Wars Lego comes in sets start around $10 and right up to hundreds of dollars!!. All the small Star Wars Lego Sets are fairly simple to construct because they only have a few bags of parts, some of the bigger Lego sets have many part bags and multi instruction manuals. One thing we found is the parts bags are logically grouped so that similar parts for a particular assembly portion are grouped together. So when my son builds a Lego set, he puts each bag into a little bowl rather than putting them all together in one big bowl.

One thing I have noticed about Star Wars Lego, and it probably holds true with any Lego set, is my son always wants to see what Star Wars Lego minifigures come with the kit. Some of the Star Wars Lego Collectable sets come with 4 or 5 Star Wars Lego minifigures. This is the most important thing in the Star Wars Lego building world. In fact all of the main characters of the movies are in Lego minifigure form. Yoda has his own easily recognisable head and head shape, as do Chewbacca, Kit Fisto and other Lego minifigure, including Darth Vaders. Yes, Star Wars lightsabers are available with some minifigures as well!

Just when I thought that my son had every Star Wars Lego Set available, I went online to see how big the range is. Wow!! That’s where I found out just how big some of the Star Wars Legos can be. You can even build the 10188 Death Star set, if you can afford it and you have the patience ‘cos its huge. My son says he will buy it oneday. Also available of course is the cool Jedi Starfighter. Other available vehicles and ships include the Imperial AT-ST, TIE fighters, a Rebel Blockade Runner and Lukes speeder. There are also location sets like the 4501 Mos Eisley Cantina, it’s a really great Star Wars Lego collectable.

The Toothbrush And Toothpaste: A Good Dental Care Tool Kit

November 13th, 2008

A toothbrush is a dental care tool used to remove food particles, plaque and bacterial from teeth. When used with a proper dental flossing tool, a toothbrush can be an effective means of preventing oral health problems. While there are numerous brands and types of toothbrushes available in today’s market, finding the right one for you can be challenging.

Types Of Toothbrushes

There are two main types of toothbrushes which cover every conceivable type in use today. Manual – this includes any type of toothbrush not powered by any method other than movement by hand. Electric – this includes both motorized and battery operated toothbrushes. This dental care tool may be easier to use for people with arthritis or in need of assistance with brushing.

Both manual and electric toothbrushes are acceptable dental care tools and can work well when used properly. You should dispose of the toothbrush when the bristles are no longer firm or at least every few months time.

What All Toothbrushes Should Have

For a toothbrush to be an effective dental care tool, it needs to have basic fundamental requirements to be useful. Here is a list of some things to look for: The toothbrush needs to have soft bristles The toothbrush should be able to be held comfortably in the hand For manual toothbrushes – be sure the tip is small enough to reach all the needed areas of the mouth with ease For electric toothbrushes – be sure the bristles of this dental care tool are designed to move in a back and forth motion.

Toothpaste

Like toothbrushes, there are a variety of this type of dental care tool on the market today. Personal preferences can decide on which type of toothpaste you use depending on many considerations including: taste tartar control whitening

There are certain things which should be present in all types of toothpaste to make it an effective dental care tool, fluoride being the most important to help prevent cavities.

This dental care tool can be most effective used in small amounts. Only a pea-sized amount of toothpaste is required for each brushing.

Proper Brushing

It will not matter what kind of dental care tool you use if you are brushing improperly. This is the reason manual toothbrushes seem hard to use. Here are some tips to brushing effectively: keep the toothbrush at a 45 degree angle to the gums brush in a circular motion use a moderate amount of pressure on the gums and teeth

Electric toothbrushes provide aid with all but proper pressure applied.

Dental Scaling Tools As Part Of Gum Treatment

November 11th, 2008

Dental scaling is defined simply as removal of dental plaque and calculus from the surface of the teeth. Dental scaling uses a special tool which helps remove built up pockets of plaque and calculus below the gumline.

Scaling and root planning are commonly referred to as a deep cleaning. A variety of dental scaling tools may be used to do this procedure, many are ultrasonic or hand instruments such as periodontal scalers and curettes.

What Is Deep Cleaning

Deep cleaning by a dental scaling tool helps alleviate the causes of gum disease. Like cavities, gum disease is caused by a buildup of the following: Dental plaque Dental tartar Dental calculus

Deep cleaning removes the calculus from the pockets created by plaque below the gums.

What is Dental Calculus

When plaque and other bacteria build up around the gumline it works its way below under the teeth forming pockets within the gums. The larger these pockets get, the more room there is for buildup of organisms inside these pockets. These organisms are calculus which can eat away at the bone from below, causing the teeth to eventually rot and fall out. The non-surgical method of removing calculus is called scaling and uses a special dentist scaling tool.

Dental scaling is the first step in a series of procedures used to treat gum disease. During scaling, the dentist scaling tool is used to remove the plaque and calculus from under the gums. While it is common still to manually scrape away the deposits, there are many dentists who use an ultrasonic scaling tool. These ultrasonic scalers use ultrasound vibrations to break up the calculus build up.

Planning

After the scaling is complete, the appearance of a jagged area. Because of this, Planning is the next procedure used. This helps smooth the tooth’s root after the scaling tool is used. Dentists do this to help the gums heal. It is easier for the gums to reattach themselves to smooth roots than one fighting gum disease. A smoother surface also prevents plaque from reattaching to the tooth root. This will help maintain the gums after scaling.

Does The Procedure Hurt?

Although use of the dentist scaling and planning tool isn’t painful, anesthesia is available most of the time for patients who have extreme sensitivity in the mouth. Most people can return to their daily activities immediately after the procedure. Your dentist can prescribe treatment for later discomfort if you are worried about this.

In various cases, scaling is a part of an ongoing periodontal program. This is most likely due to extreme gum disease and deterioration. If the deterioration continues there may be additional treatments required. Preventative Measures Afterward Once the scaling procedure is completed, preventative care is required to continue positive results from the scaling tool. Dentists will most likely advise the use of a dental care tool such as a specialized toothpaste or flossing. The Dentist will also recommend a daily regimen of brushing and flossing along with regular visits to the office for regular cleanings. If you have gum disease, visit your dentist as soon as you can. A simple procedure such as scaling can reduce the effect and bring gums back to a healthy state. Gum tissue, once lost, doesn’t grow back. If you allow gum disease to progress too far, there will be permanent damage.
